Kargman Center for Community Care and Mental Wellness was established in 2019 as a nonprofit organization by its founder Dimitry Kargman. Out of his passion for the overall wellness of the complete person, Mr. Kargman along with his sister Milana Klein established founding principles on which they were interested in meeting the needs of the communities in Dundalk, Maryland, and surrounding cities.

Those principles consist of:

  • Providing health care coordination and access to community resources that respond to unmet community health needs.
  • To engage and empower the community to advocate together, perform best practices and establish solid policies that align with federal mandates.

We believe that physical and emotional health are equally important and strongly connected. Through our integrated Behavioral Health, we at Kargman Center can provide patients and their families additional support and resources during a medical visit, helping to link physical care with behavioral care. Our integrated behavioral health team is available on-site at our location to provide in-the-moment support and health and wellness services.

At Kargman Center, we have a specific team available who are trained in fields such as social work, psychology, and counseling. This team works hand in hand with medical providers to help children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate diagnoses or issues right in our office.

If called in during an appointment, a member of the behavioral health team will work with a patent and/or family member to help in accomplishing a short-term health goal. The behavioral health team member can assess the situation and help connect the patient with additional support if needed (such as longer-term counseling or community resources).

Kargman Center has therapists in the primary care clinic that practice integrated care collocated behavioral health in Dundalk, Maryland. We also provide virtual telehealth services.

Our Goal

Providing health care coordination and access to community resources that respond to unmet community health needs. To engage and empower the community to advocate together, perform best practices, and establish solid policies that align with federal mandates.

Integrated Mental Health
What do we know about Integrated Mental Health?

  • Research has shown that having depression can affect other physical illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, HIV, and heart disease.
  • The collaborative family healthcare model envisions seamless collaboration between psychosocial, biomedical, nursing and other healthcare providers, and views patient, family, community, and provider systems as equal participants in the healthcare process.
  • Integrated care helps to diminish duplicity of care
  • Integrated care improves the quality of life for patients

A multidisciplinary approach helps a patient to benefit from the expertise of multiple providers across a variety of disciplines caring for them in one place. This helps with missed appointments and scheduling challenges. The ultimate goal is to ensure the overall well being of the patient. Kargman Center has embraced this concept and continue to endeavor to improve upon total patient care.
